This means that Nassau is located close to the confluence of cold and warm ocean currents and sitting in the middle of the Bahama Banks. The deepwater, flushes nutrients to the surface providing attractive feeding grounds for a variety of fish species. The different marine environments provide a culinary feast for people keen to fish the island's waters.

Please do not take artifacts from our sanctuary it is the LAW and no fishing in our protected waters. They are the lifelines to the greater Bahamas fisheries. This area covers from Normans Cay to just north of Compass Cay and extend 4 miles east in the Atlantic and 4miles west on the Bank.
